  28. Nope!  It hasn't even started yet.  I'm sure that Microsoft would
  29. like for everyone to believe they've won the race without having
  30. to put sneakers to the cinders, but I say hold off 'till the race
  31. is actually run.  In fact, to stretch an analogy to the breaking
  32. point, may there be many heats and many rematches.

  34. I've been assured by the Digital guys that I deal with here that NT
  35. will bury OS/2.  Surprise!  Surprise!  Digital's committed to NT on
  36. their Alpha systems.  I don't expect them to promote something they
  37. don't sell -- they're not pushing Power RISC, either!  Besides,
  38. Dave Cutler, of VMS and RSX legend is running the project.  As an
  39. old RSX hack (MCR, PIP, TECO, Yank-Yank-Altmode-Altmode, see?) and
  40. VMS retread before my conversion to Unix, that bodes well for NT by
  41. my lights, but it's no automatic sale.  Let's just wait and see.
