- You guys who think the regular version of OS/2 is badly documented are
- more than welcome to figure out Extended Services.
-
- Listen to this one...
-
- "if you have a COM02.SYS device driver in CONFIG.SYS, make sure it is
- placed after the UPSDRV.OS2 statement in CONFIG.SYS. Otherwise, the
- UPS service will not start successfully."
-
- -->No comment as to whether or not you need this COM02.SYS thing.
-
- "Note: In order to use the Uninterruptible Power Supply Service, you
- must install the COM02.SYS device driver. You can install this driver
- during base operating system installation [BZZZT...WRONG] or you can
- copy the driver from another server [Presumably a server that was
- anointed by the OS/2 god with a file that is on NONE of the disks]."
-
- I'd rather have no documentation than the crap that these guys
- churned out. Each manual has little gems like this in it.
-
- Incidentally, the second quotation was IN THE SAME MANUAL but about
- 40 pages after the first one. Go figure.
-
- Maybe IBM should hire some people from HP to write the docs.
-
- Now if I could only find this imaginary COM02.SYS file....
