- I suggest you investigate more fully. My machine at home is currently
- configured as follows (using 2 I/O boards):

- COM1 - IRQ4 Serial Mouse
- COM2 - IRQ3 Modem (16550AFN UART)
- COM3 - IRQ2 Modem (16550AFN UART)
- COM4 - IRQ5 Unused (but I've had a modem there, it works)
- LPT1 - IRQ7 Laser printer
- LPT2 - IRQ5 Unused (once used to link two machines, it works)

- Everything works fine. I not only RECOMMEND doing this; it is the only
- way (other than multi-port boards with special drivers) to have more
- than 2 usable COM ports that will work at the same time.
