- Sorry to have left you all hanging. I only know that the 1542C has
- been announced and that it will have support for disks > 1GB built in.

- I called Adaptec a couple of weeks ago to check on a PROM upgrade for
- my board, and the tech support person mentioned the new one. It was
- announced in INFO WORLD about three weeks ago, and mentioned in
- comp.periphs.scsi around the same time. I wasn't in the market for a
- new controller, so didn't register what's different about it.

- My guess is that aside from the PROMS, it might use new chips (to
- reduce production costs) and maybe have some on-board buffering. But,
- aside from that, there's not much that one could add to the 1542B.
