  20. Thanks for some feedback on this from within IBM. Perhaps the right people could
  21. be reminded that at least in Academia it can be pretty hard to get things
  22. like Compuserve accounts approved. IBM has in the past been a greater supporter
  23. of communication with and between universities (e.g., much investment in
  24. setting up BITNET), presumably in part because it recognizes that the many
  25.  students who pass through our classes and labs eventually emerge in the real
  26. world as potential customers.

  28. My own interest in OS/2 includes  a desire to develop data acquisition software;
  29. hence I enrolled in the DAP. (In the meantime I have found DOS emulation works
  30. quite well with some of our existing hardware and software.) I could get a Com-
  31. puserve account myself if I had to, but it certainly would be much more conve-
  32. nient to be able to communicate with the usual DAP contacts through this net.
