  13. I got a SoundBlaster a couple of weeks ago, and had a problem from the
  14. start with the CT-VOICE driver ("READ", "Dr. SBAITSO", etc.) under (real)
  15. DOS (no OS/2).   The machine would lock up solid, and I had to do a hardware
  16. reset.   The book said that this was an IRQ conflict.   I tried removing
  17. everything with no luck, but as an act of desperation, I changed the DMA
  18. channel.   Voila!

  20. Now on to OS/2 and MMPM/2.   I've tried re-installing the SB drivers for
  21. MMPM/2 several times.   I *have* installed them from a floppy.   I have
  22. tried specifying SB Pro w/ OPL2 and OPL3 (mine is an SB Pro w/ OPL3).
  23. The symptoms are the same.   MID files appear to play, but no sound
  24. comes out.   WAV files play a short (.25 sec) clip over and over.   I
  25. sould mention that I'm using the beta of MMPM/2 from the PDK (10/92, but
  26. 11/92 appears to be the same).

  28. Does anyone else have MMPM/2 from the PDK working w/ an SB Pro?   Can
  29. you provide some insight as to what my problem may be.   I'm virtually
  30. positive that I don't have an IRQ problem.   I had the same results
  31. using IRQ5 after removing my bus mouse which I know was IRQ5.   I had
  32. started with IRQ10, and now have it set to IRQ2.

  34. Any help would be appreciated, especially since IBM will be including
  35. MMPM/2 with the base OS/2 starting with the next release (2.1).   Yeah,
  36. IBM.
