  13. I am urgently looking for a clear explanation of the format of
  14. Windows Metafiles (the files normally have the suffix .WMF).
  15.  
  16. I've searched CompuServe, and have the Microsoft Programmer's
  17. Reference for Win3.0.  Neither of these has quite what I want.
  18. Ideally it should lay out exactly the structure of a WMF file,
  19. ie what goes in the header, what bytes define pens and lines,
  20. how to draw a box/polygon etc.  Most references I've found
  21. show you how to write a metafile _using Windows API calls_.
  22. That's _not_ what I want.

  24. The explanation is needed by someone who is writing a program
  25. to convert his graphics format into WMF.  The program will be
  26. written under VMS Fortran or C.
