  14. After seeing the large number of negative comments about Superstor, I
  15. should note that I have had no problem with Superstor on either of the
  16. two machines I run it on. It took me a couple of hours to figure out
  17. how to get SuperStor to do what I wanted the first time I tried, and I
  18. haven't had a problem since.

  20. One machine is a desktop which runs all the time, and has two hard
  21. disks, divided into 4 partitions, each partition has a disk, so I have
  22. a total of 8 logical drives once SuperStor boots up. (confusing, I
  23. know. One of these days I will actually clean it all up... Famous last
  24. words...) I run smartdrv on the host disks.

  26. The other machine is a notebook, which is constantly being switched
  27. off and on again. It has one disk, one partition, on which I have a
  28. large superstor container file. I run Smartdrv on the host disk.

  30. I've had a couple of problems with the disks getting corrupted, but I
  31. expected that, so I haven't been devastated by that happening. I
  32. haven't had a problem for a couple of months.

  34. The two machines are also connected together using Lantastic Z, and I
  35. run Smartdrv, 386MAX and Smartcan on drives of both machines. It took
  36. a bit of fiddling to get everything to coexist, but now everything
  37. works fine. Both machines run Win 3.1, and when the two are connected
  38. together, from the desktop I can run apps off the notebook.

  40. Getting Smartdrv, LantasticZ, 386Max and Superstor to work together
  41. took a couple of calls to tech support. I called Artisoft, Qualitas and
  42. Superstor, and generally had no problem with the tech support of
  43. either company. They were helpful, and faxed me various help sheets
  44. aimed at fixing my problems.
