- There are many game programs around for MS-DOS that cost more than MS-DOS 5.0
- itself. There are word processing programs for MS-DOS that cost a multiple of
- what MS-DOS costs. Nowhere does it say that operating systems have to be
- expensive :-)

- But that is beside the point. You can upgrade to 1.6.24 with the old K&R
- compiler. I spent weeks making that possible, although I had plenty of other
- things to do. Nevertheless, the future of C is ANSI C and a package
- containing an ANSI C compiler, a Pascal compiler, and a Modula 2 compiler for
- $199 is not more expensive than these three compilers cost together for MS-DOS.
