- I was recently given an old Orchid designer 800 VGA card. It appears to have
- an ET3000(AX) chip, 256K of memory (expandable to 512K), and 2 external
- connectors (a 9 and 15 pin connector). No documentation. I'd like to use
- it in my 40 Mhz 386 box upgraing from CGA. Some questions:
-
- 1. Can someone tell me what the DIP switches and jumper mean? There are
- 4 DIP switches accessable from the back panel and a single jumper
- near the back panel.
-
- 2. Is there any way I can use this card with either a CGA or monochrome
- monitor? I'll be getting a VGA monitor sometime in Feb.
-
- 3. Will this card run X under Linux? Is there anything special I'd have to
- to do to get it to work?
-
- Please send by Email.
-
- Thanks,
-
- BAJ
