  12. First off, thanks to everyone who has offered me advice and solutions
  13. to
  14. the problems I put forward.  I would send personally routed Thank Yous
  15. but I am sending through FIDO and am not sure they would be received
  16. properly.  Additionally, lots of little thank yous would increase
  17. traffic.

  19. So with that off my chest,
  20.  
  21. I have come along way in my attempt to rid my system of segmentation
  22. errors from uucp software.  A patch is applied, -fwritable-strings is
  23. being used and the segmentation error is replaced by a message about
  24. writing to code space.

  26. My little "Event not found" message turned out to be ignorance on my
  27. part about bash and csh similarities.

  29. So my lastest stumbling block is:

  31.         "uucp: Can't get login name"

  33. I looked around the source code and through docs for answers but came
  34. up
  35. with nothing.

  37. We are talking about an outbound transfer now.  IE:

  39.         uucp myfile btsci\!/usr/spool/uucppublic

  41. This code returns:

  43. uucp writes to code space
  44. uucp:  Can't get login name

  47. I have a feeling this is my last hurdle (I'm an optimist).
