- First off, thanks to everyone who has offered me advice and solutions
- to
- the problems I put forward. I would send personally routed Thank Yous
- but I am sending through FIDO and am not sure they would be received
- properly. Additionally, lots of little thank yous would increase
- traffic.
-
- So with that off my chest,
-
- I have come along way in my attempt to rid my system of segmentation
- errors from uucp software. A patch is applied, -fwritable-strings is
- being used and the segmentation error is replaced by a message about
- writing to code space.
-
- My little "Event not found" message turned out to be ignorance on my
- part about bash and csh similarities.
-
- So my lastest stumbling block is:
-
- "uucp: Can't get login name"
-
- I looked around the source code and through docs for answers but came
- up
- with nothing.
-
- We are talking about an outbound transfer now. IE:
-
- uucp myfile btsci\!/usr/spool/uucppublic
-
- This code returns:
-
- uucp writes to code space
- uucp: Can't get login name
-
-
- I have a feeling this is my last hurdle (I'm an optimist).
-
- Again. Thanks for all the help.
-
- Maybe after I can communicate with linux I can start using the E-mail
- systems I know and love for future communications.
