  12.     Where do I obtain a version of uugetty which functions, or at
  13. least has the documentation?  Here are the problems I am experiencing:

  15.     o Lock-files (They exist, BUT they all are invalid/stale)
  16.       Maybe the pid in them is not the pid of the users shell, and
  17.       is/was the pid of uugetty itself?  IE, uugetty creates the
  18.       lock file, puts it's PID in the file, then exits, thus
  19.       causing the lock file to be stale?

  21.     o No documentation about /etc/default/uugetty.ttys[1-9]  Nice
  22.       script, pretty good idea, but lacks information on how to go
  23.       about it.  You need this stuff when you're dealing with a
  24.       modem that has the ROM's in it programmed by a manufacturer
  25.       who hires programmers that program in "DWIM - Do What I Mean"
  26.  
  27.     o Why does the manual page for uugetty say that there is a -r
  28.       option when uugetty says that it not an option?

  31.     Should I go and write my own and do it the right way?  Or
  32. would that just cause more confusion in this effort?

  34.     Other than the above, I like LINUX so far...  I just got
  35. TCP/IP to run on a users machine of this system, and I think it's
  36. pretty nice.  After all, you can't beat the price...

  38.     I got the whole SLS from tsx-11 about a week ago and made it
  39. available on The Buffalo Computer Society for download.  Got three
  40. people running it right now, however, they got it because they want to
  41. be able to call/into and out from their machines...  With uugetty
  42. going crazy it just doesn't work that way.  I fear they may go back to
  43. DOS.  That would be bad.
