  10. Recently, I have obtained the SLS package from the net. I managed to get
  11. the system running, but was not able to get the system to work like I
  12. wish it had. I hope you Linux gurus out there could help me with these
  13. questions so that I won't have to burn my vacation away too much, figuring
  14. out the following problems:
  15.     1) My first partition is a MSDOS partition. Therefore, I like
  16.        Linux to appear like this:
  17.         /dev/hda2  10M  /root
  18.         /dev/hda3  10M  swap
  19.         /dev/hda4  80M / /usr
  20.             
  21.       However, since the limitation of linux, I can only have a 
  22.       primary partition of 64MB size, I tried changing the partition
  23.       to type EXTENDED. Reading the install documentation convince me
  24.       that an extended partition can go up to 1 terabyte. Unfortunately,
  25.       when I do a 'mkfs /dev/hda4 81920', I received an error message
  26.       of something about exceeding the 64M barrier. This may be my
  27.       lack of understanding the concept of extended partition.
  28.       To confuse myself further, I tried to analyze the example shown
  29.       in the README. It shows that it is possible to have a primary
  30.       partition being overlapped by a extended partition with the
  31.       same start and end sector. Is this possible?

  33.     2) LILO - how does this work? I like to be able to boot linux 
  34.        entirely from the hard disk. Also, I like be able to choose
  35.        between booting MSDOS and Linux. Do I need a DOS Switcher in
  36.        addition to LILO?
