  16. This is purely something that came to mind when reading some of the comments 
  17. in this thread.

  19. I installed 0.98 SLS the other week and am still experiencing 'permission
  20. problems' ( plus some others - X ) but as a relative newcomer to eunuch system 
  21. administration I see these as a blessing in disguise. It gives me the chance to
  22. play with a eunuch system configuration. By doing this you learn certain 
  23. rules / things :
  24.  
  25.  - Always backup before you make ANY changes;
  26.  
  27.  - When I said always backup I mean ALWAYS BACKUP;
  28.  
  29.  - Think about what you are doing, and do you really want to do it. Will
  30.     it achieve what you want ?;
  31.  
  32.  - What are you going to do if things go horribly wrong ?;
  33.  
  34.  - The power, and possible misuses of a root login;
  35.  
  36.  - Learn how to restore, and apply the backups you have made - permissions &
  37.     setuids especially;
  38.  
  39.  - Exactly what goes into a system administration job.
  40.  
  41. These are all important points - to my mind at least.

  43. Moral ( Brady Bunch Punchline ) : OK SLS is not yet perfect but it's damn good.
  44. So please do not critise, just use, enjoy, and learn.
