-
- The solution as been posted in the past, X is not putting you back
- in text mode when exiting. There are two ways to fix it. First of
- all I was told that version 1.1 of Xfree86 should fix this, though I
- haven't tried it (It looks like your using version 1.0, which is what
- you would get with the SLS distribution on the x disks).
-
- The easiest solution is to use the vgalib software, It comes under
- SLS now in the src directory (at one time, might be gone now, it
- was on sunsite (?) under the attic directory in the linux sub-node.
- Compile this and use 'runx' (i.e. runx startx), and your problem is fixed.

-
- Look at the man page for xterm, its just a flag you pass to xterm
- (I think -sb is correct, though I don't have the man page in from of me).
-
- BTW, you can chg the characteristics (i.e. scrollbar) of an xterm window
- by changing characteristics in the xterm menu once your up and running.
- Here, again I don't have a manual infront of me, put the cursor
- on the xterm window and press the shift key and middle mouse button at the
- same time to get the appropiate window (disclaimer - if it's not the shift
- key, then it's the control key, also there are three menus for xterm, I believe
- the scroll bar is on the middle one).
