- I've never used TeX before, (but I *DO* know its tau epsilon chi <g>), and I'm
- getting ready to start to learn it. I have some basic assumptions I'd like to
- shoot off, and someone tell me I'm right (if I am), or correct me if I'm not.
-
- 1) As I understand it, a TeX output file is *.dvi, and up to this point it's
- device independent. Then, one needs a printer driver to take the generic .dvi
- file and put it to hardcopy in the desired format. True?
-
- 2) I have a panasonic kxp1124 printer, which apparantly is not supported by the
- TeX supplied w/Linux. If I grab the source to a correct driver for this
- printer, I can compile it and use it. Yes? No?
-
- 3) Does EmTeX mean anything to anyone (good OR bad)?
-
- I'd prefer a mail to this post, and I'll summarize if there's interest.
-
- Thanks much,
-
- Mike
