- Excuse me?? Those of us 'morons', as you so ignorantly put
- it, are also those that get it across to Peter that some changes need
- to be made, and to which I think he does tailor his changes.
-
- I, myself, as one of those 'morons' to which you refer, have
- been administering/upgrading/maintaining a commercial variat of Unix
- for the past year and consider myself able to get around most
- variants. I have worked at getting software running and have a fair
- to good idea of what is missing, if something is. I hate asking
- questions of the net, except for the fact that answers come back very
- very fast that way. There are some questions that I figure out after
- I ask them...but if I'm asking them, there is a good chance that
- someone else out there is also asking them.
-
- Go back to your high school days, in a class of peers, and you
- need to ask a question but are afraid to because someone might laugh
- at you...well...it is the same here, except here, those that think
- they don't ask the occasional 'moron'ic question, flame you.
-
- Those of us that seem to complain about something 'minor'
- probably do make a difference (whereas the silent majority
- doesn't)...if find something that seems 'not quite right', and say
- something about it, then it is usually something that Peter can fix
- for the next distribution...and it is probably something that he
- doesn't notice on his machine (quite understandable)...and who does
- that help in the end...the new Linux user, setting his up for the
- first time...he now has 'less' minor problems to worry about.
-
- I, for one, am seriously enjoying Linux...and greatly
- appreciate Peter's effort towards 'spreading' it by packaging it up as
- well as he as done...but, and I think (I hope) Peter will agree, it is
- far from a finished product...and that's where we come in...if we
- don't give him feedback, how is he going to know there are problems?
-
- Its 3:30am here...sorry for the ramblings...I'm just growing
- tired of flamers/labellers :)
