- I am running the lpd stuff without problems and *without* libc.4.2.
- All I did was downloading the lpr/lpd files from sunsite/INcoming,
- which someone posted a couple of weeks ago and fighting a little bit
- with permissions and network set up.

- I got lpd working with a loopback device and a correct
- services, hosts.lpd, hosts and printcap file for a local printer
- at the parallel port. This configuration runs from 0.98.6 to 0.99.1
- without major problems, except the correct permission flags for the
- daemons and spool directories. lpd just dies without any
- warning, if the permissions for ...spool/lp/..., ...spool/lpd.lock are
- wrong. I have set up lpd, lpr, lprm, lpq with setgid and owner daemon.
- Lpd dies too, if your machine hasn't a valid services file.
