  15. I'm standing under shock. I use my Linux since 4 weeks now, have upgraded
  16. on Kernel .99p1 from SLS .98p5 and all worked fine.

  18. Then, I had the idea to try : shutdown -r now.
  19.  
  20. After that, my machine booted and suddenly a saw this :

  23. Partition table ok.
  24. MINIX-fs: magic match failed         <-- NEW, I don't know why ! Didn't 
  25. EXT-fs: magic match failed           <-- touch /etc/fstab or something.
  26. [MS-DOS ... ]                 <----- comes from my mounted DOS-Part.
  27. [me=.... ]
  28. Unsuported FS parameters             <-- It seems that he does'nt re- 
  29. Kernel panic: Unable to mount root       kognize the root - fs !

  34. Booting with my rawrited bootdisks from the installation I saw that I
  35. can mount my /usr partition but not my root-partition !

  37. Making an fsck /dev/sda8 (where my / resides) prints this :

  44. - How can I fix this ?? I don;t want to reinstall Linux because of the
  45.   /home etc. directorys on the root-partition and second I don't know
  46.   how to install only / and not /usr.

  48. - What have I done wrong ?? I don't know. I logget out of Xwindows. Changed
  49.   to VT-1 where I was logged on as root, and typed : shutdown -r now.

  52. Please help me ! I feel so bad without Linux.
