- I had this problem a bit ago when building a 286. After little help from
- idiots at the self service computer center who could only say "You'll
- have to bring it in" I found the problem. It sounds very similar to
- your problem, even though the platform is different.

- Check your wait states. Make sure they are NOT set to zero. I found
- out that everything on my system worked fine after setting ALL my wait
- states to one. Prior to that, neither my 100 meg IDE nor my two 20 meg
- mfms would write properly. Infact, I even corupted the formatting on
- the mfms.
