- Run the rdev command (specifying the boot device, video and -1 as
- video type). This command allows setting of a number of boot defaults
- including whether to ask about video type or what video type to
- default to. -1 means don't change it (80x25). I needed to do it
- because I have a laptop with Cirrus chipset and the method it uses to
- set it to other resolutions doesn't work. (I still had 80x25, but
- the kernel thought it had ???x44.)
