- For some reason, everytime I try to install the SLS distribution
- of linux on my 386, I my scsi adapter always hangs with a scsi command timeout
- when doing a mkfs or mkswap. I am trying to install it on /dev/sdd.
- My setup is as follows:
- 386-33
- 1542B Adaptec SCSI host adapter - I do have sychronize negotiation enabled
- on pin 1.
- 3 SCSI hard disks
- /dev/sda - DOS, 330 Mb Imprimis
- /dev/sdb - DOS, 40 Mb Seagate
- /dev/sdc - DOS, 40 Mb Seagate
- /dev/sdd - Linux (or at least trying), 80 Mb Seagate ST-296N
-
- Soundblaster
- 1Mb Trident video card.
-
- EVERY DAM TIME I TRY TO MAKE A FILESYSTEM, IT THE HARD DISK ROLLS FOR A SEC
- WITH THE NUMBERS WHEN YOU DO A MKFS, BUT THEN I GET A SCSI TIMEOUT.
-
- DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANY IDEAS, I REALLY WANT TO USE LINUX BUT TO NO AVAIL CAN
- I INSTALL IT. I HAVE SLS v.99 OR WHAT EVER IS THE LATEST ON TSX-11.MIT.EDU
