- Hi...
-
- Well...I just downloaded and compiled the getty_ps
- package and still swear it is the same as what comes 'default'
- with the SLS package...except that the /etc/default files are
- missing, but regardless...it sort of works now...
-
- When I say sort of, I mean that it only half works...or
- maybe even not that much...but it works better then before. I
- installed it, changed my inittab file and re-init'd the system.
- No errors so far.
-
- I took a spare computer and modem, and dialed into the
- machine...hurray, it answers and gives me the login prompt. I
- type in a username...it gives me the passwd: prompt...I type in
- the passwd...it stops dead. Let me guess...I need to replace the
- login suite as well?
-
- Next...after hanging up on that process, I try using Kermit
- to dial out so that I can post this :) For some reason, my line
- is scrambled up. Now, is that because the kermit I have is putting
- the LCK file in the wrong place? As soon as I turn off the uugetty,
- it is fine (as I'm here now, eh?)
-
- Now, I'm presuming that *someone* out there *does* have
- bi-directional communications with a modem going, or else I wouldn't
- have had so many responses...are there any options that I should be
- using *besides* what are in the /etc/default/uugetty.* file that
- came with getty_ps?
-
- Thanks for the help...
