  12. Well, this thread seemed to die....  I still can't get the
  13. daemon to print anything.

  15. My setup:

  17. kernel 0.99pl0 w/ tcp/ip compiled in.
  18. apple personal laserwriter on ttys2
  19. BSD lpr binaries from tsx-11
  20.  
  21. /usr/etc/printcap entry:
  22. lp|local laserwriter:\
  23.         :lp=/dev/ttys2:sd=/usr/spool/lw:\
  24.         :br#9600:\
  25.         :mx#0:pw#1000:\
  26.         :sh:sf
  27.  
  28. /usr/etc/lp*  setuid root, setgid daemon
  29. /usr/spool/lw setuid daemon, setgid daemon.
  30.  
  31. daemon is in /etc/passwd & /etc/group
  32.  
  33. /dev/ttys2 is setuid daemon  (have tried with setuid root too)
  34.  
  35. /usr/etc/inet/hosts.lpr  contains the line:
  36. brunhilda    (my machine - don't ask)

  38. I also have 
  39. /usr/etc/inet/hosts.equiv with
  40. brunhilda

  42. My problem is:  lpr spools, but the daemon never tries to print.

  44. Does anyone have a working setup similar to this?
  45. Help would be greatly appreciated.
