  13. When building the kernel (via 'make all'), I occasionally get the 
  14. following error message and compilation stops:
  15.     gcc: Internal compiler error: program cc1 got fatal signal 4
  16.  
  17. Then, I re-type 'make all', and the build will continue successfully.
  18. This may happen two or three times during building the entire kernel.
  19. Once built, the kernel works fine.
  20.  
  21. I've only seen this on large builds (i.e. kernel).
  22. What is causing this compiler error? Any ideas?

  24. I am using .99p1 and recently loaded libc.so.4.2 because of sigaction.
  25. The compiler I am using is 2.2.2d.
