  12. I recently posted that SLS installed fine but that it died at

  18. Actually, I found (after trying the bootimage of every kernel I could find)
  19. that the problem occurs in all the kernels after and including 0.98.  They
  20. doesn't have the prompt

  24. I usually hit <SPACE> in kernel 0.97 and the 0.98pl15 on SLS disk a1.
  25. (this is why they work.)  On kernel tsx-11.mit.edu: 
  26. pub/linux/images/bootimage.0.98 and the kernel that is written as the boot disk
  27. for the SLS distribution, the prompt is skipped.  I immediatly get the
  28.

  37. However, the user is not allowed to answer this prompt either (it is only
  38. shown).  I do not have SVGA, so the screen freezes when I reach the end of
  39. the screen (i.e. there is no scrolling).  What does the screen default to
  40. in kernels 0.98 and after?  I want to use simple VGA mode, not SVGA.  How
  41. can I do this with the kernel that is written to the bootdisk on SLS?
  42. Someone *PLEASE* help!  I would really like to get SLS running before the
  43. next semester starts.  Any linux gurus have any suggestions??????

  46. memory...it should be easy to see which ones I am refering to....)
