  10. On Christmas Eve my $400.00 Conner decided to die.  As a result I lost
  11. any messages that were sent to me in the last 2 days.  Just in case I
  12. missed some replies, the last 2 concerns I had are as follows:

  15.         TAYLOR UUCP BINARIES WITH 98.5SLS:

  17.         When attempting to use uucp with a normal syntax, everything
  18.         after the '!' mark is reported on an error message line as
  19.         follows:

  21.         EXAMPLE:
  22.                         uucp filename btsci!/usr/spool/uucppublic

  24.         RESULTING MESSAGE:

  26.                         /usr/spool/uucppublic:  Event not found.

  28.        I tried compiling the sources for Taylor 1.03a but ran in to
  29.        snags.  Upon finally getting a successful compile, the same
  30.        message resulted.  To find out what binary was generating this
  31.        message I looked at each binary involved with a binary editor
  32.        (uucp uucico and bin/sh) and found that this message comes from
  33.        /bin/sh.  I don't know what 'Event not found' refers to and I
  34. don't
  35.        know why it is treating the string after the '!' as this
  36.        so-called event.

  42.        I would like some info on accessing internet systems via uucp or
  43.        ftp.  I have no phone numbers and no contacts so I have no idea
  44.        how to get into this network which has incredible resources.
  45.        Could anyone let me know what is necessary to gain access?
