- I've never heard of ttyF*...

- You can use "uugetty" (in the gettyps package) for your serial lines
- where you'd like to dial out. It was designed to allow for outgoing
- connections, and uses the same lock-files as the uucp suite.

- Make sure you get the latest one, since the old one is broken under
- any of the more recent kernels. It's on tsx-11.mit.edu under (I think)
