- Hi:
- The problem is that after I install SLS, I backup some of my dos
- file and reinstall the MS WINDOWS 3.1. After I reinstall it and run the windows
- I try to login linux again(of cause I reset the system). But there's an error
- message come out just before linux load the kernel into the memory. The error
- message is
- Unable to handle kernel paging request at address e0203638

- task(0) (swapper) killed: unable to recover
- kermel panic : trying to free swapper memory
- In swapper task - not syncing
-
- After the massage came out I reset the system again. Linux boots well.
- I found out it might be HIMEM.SYS problem. So I delete the line
- device=c:himem.sys
- boot dos and reset the system and boot the Linux again. It boot well.
- Is that TRUE that Linux can't compatible with HIMEM.SYS? Or something
- else went wrong in my system? Have anyone ever encounter the same
- problem? or this is a known problem? How to solve the problem?
- Please help me to slove the problem.
- Thanks in advance and merry X'mas and Happy new year.
