  10. I tried to install the new version of Xfree86 (1.1) when I did I used my
  11. *Xconfig file from 1.0. I installed the packeges buut got some broken pipes
  12. when using zcat < xkit | tar xvfBp - and zcat < xman |tar xvfBp -.
  13. I went ahead and started x but I got these error:
  14. failed to set defaulkt path /usr/lib/X11/fonts/misc,/usr/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi/
  15. usr/lib/X11/fonts/misc/xconq
  16. fatal server error: couldmt open default font 'fixed' giving up
  17.  
  18. I now the faq says to look in the directories and see if fonts.dir and
  19. fonts.alias = the fonts in the directory. Well I looked but the two files
  20. wee pretty much greek to me.  I saw the names of files in the directory
  21. in the files. but I have noo idea what else to look for. Could someone give
  22. me a better idea of what to search for? Pleae. I had xfree1.0 running fine
  23. but want to get 1.1 going now. I got the binaried ad other files from
  24. sunsite.
