  12. Just for the info, i have re-build the kernel at my linux-system, and here
  13. is the numbers:

  15. HW: 80386DX/25Mhz, 32Kb external cache, with co-processor and 8Mb ram.

  17. I did the following operations:
  18. 1. make clean
  19. 2. nohup time make all &
  20.  
  21. with swap (7556bytes)
  22.  
  23. real    35:10.0
  24. user    30:14.0
  25. sys     3:41.5
  26.  
  27. without swap
  28.  
  29. real    35:26.0
  30. user    30:13.8
  31. sys     3:54.0
  32.  
  33. Not much difference between swap/no-swap. Other processes where: 8 getty's
  34. inetd, update, init
  35.
