- As I am struggling through Werner's fancy-looking Tex document on LILO
- Version 0.7, I have encountered the following instruction in Section 7.1
- (pg. 32):
-
- "The next step is to test LILO with the boot sector on a floppy disk:
-
- o insert a blank (but low-level formatted) floppy disk into /dev/fd0."
-
- Just WHAT IS A LOW-LEVEL FORMATTED FLOPPY in Linux parlance?
-
- My other question concerns the content of fstab file. Is there a
- document somewhere out there that describes the various columns of that
- file and what values they can take? Some of it I can figure out, but
- most of it is mistery to me. For instance I would like to know how I am
- to include the specs of my swap partition in it (which is hdb6), but I
- don't know what to put in each fstab column.
- Also, what does "default" really mean in the last column?
- Where are those defaults taken and what are they?
-
- Thanks,
- Joe Pannon
