- Hi:
- I am a new user of linux. After I succefully installing the whole
- system(a,b,c,x), I have some questions.
- (1) The kernal I have is .98pl5.But after I login as root, it appear
- linux 0.96 on the screen. Did it mean that the kernel is .96?
- (2) How to install t1-t5? I try to use sysinstall, but don't work.
- (3) How can I install the other package(utility)?(I am using a pc
- without a ether net, I only can download the package to dos formated
- disk. I try to use modem under linux, but I can not usr ^\ to get to
- local under kermit. So the only way I can think of is download to a
- floppy and rawrite it and mount as a filesystem. Can it work?)
- (4) as I mention about ,when I used kermit , I can connect to the modem.
- But I can't jump back to local mode using "^\".Is it because of the
- keyboard problem?(my keyboard is gateway-2000 anykey).
-
- Please help me. Thanks in advance.
