- I've been trying to receive mail with the Linux port of ka9q (from
- tsx-11 I think), and so far I've been unable to. I've got the spool
- and mail queue directories set up properly AFAIK, but the remote mail
- client reports an error '452 can't open temp-file'. I traced back
- thru the code in smtpserv.c, and put a few printf's in there, and
- eventually tracked the problem to the routine where the incoming mail
- is processed. It's at this point that the error occurs.
-
- So my question is, where should the 'temp-file' be? Should I have
- the NETHOME environment variable set? At the moment it's not set,
- and I'm running net from /home/root. Is this the problem? i.e. is
- the application trying to create a temporary file in a directory to
- which it doesn't have permission? If this is the case, what should
- the NETHOME environment variable be set to?
-
- Thanks,
-
- Alan.
