  11. I am having a problem running X under Linux. It runs fine in
  12. monochrome, but when using the colour driver the display is incorrect.
  13. I get a stable image, and the colours are correct, but the display is
  14. "mangled" -- as if the wrong pixels are being turned on.

  16. I reported this before, and was told to upgrade to XFree86 version
  17. 1.1. That fixed the problem with restoration of text mode, but the
  18. display problem persists.

  20. The system is running XFree86 version 1.1 and the 0.98 pl5 Linux
  21. kernel. The hardware is a 40MHz 386DX with 4MB RAM, a Trident SVGA
  22. graphics card, and an AAMAZING SVGA monitor.

  36. I am using the standard VESA timings in Xconfig.
  37. Presumably the hardware is good, since it works under MS-Windows
  38. in 256 colour 640x480 mode.
