  13. If anyone is interested, my 386/25 laptop, w/o 387, 4M ram and 16M swap,
  14. compiled (make dep Image) my kernel (+tcpip -scsi -sound +nfs -isofs) in
  15. 45 minutes, running "alone" most of the time.

  17. I think differences in processor speed become relevant only if you have 
  18. sufficient memory. I mean, for a 2M machine you'll see few difference from 
  19. a 486 and 386sx, but for a 8M machine... (I'm guessing it, I have tried 
  20. Linux only on my own box).
