  14.         I have a TRS-80 w/2 8" drives & bunch of accounting
  15.     software. It was given to me third hand by some one who knew
  16.     nothing about computers and who's wife told him to GET IT OUT OF
  17.     THEIR GARAGE!

  19.         I plugged it in and tried it. It booted and loaded it's
  20.     DOS from disk, but when I booted it a second time, it seemed to
  21.     score the surface of the disk. Not really wanting to spend a lot
  22.     of time with it, I quit before I did any more damage.

  24.         Bottom line, it works sort of, if you have one or three
  25.     already and want some good spare parts, or want to fix it up as
  26.     an additional machine, it is in basically ok shape, I just don't
  27.     need to play with ANOTHER operating system. (I'm already more
  28.     deeply involved with Unix, DOS, & Commodore64 than I should be!)

  30.         Apparently the CPU, memory (64k) and monitor are ok, but
  31.     it seems to have a disk problem. I never got as far as checking
  32.     the second drive.

  34.         I would trade it for an old dos compatable printer, a
  35.     commodore 80 column adapter for the c64, or whatever you have
  36.     gathering dust in your ibm or c64 closet.

  38.         If you have nothing to trade but want it anyway, don't
  39.     dispair. If no one offers me anything in trade, I will give it
  40.     away to the person with the best sob story. So if your church,
  41.     school, club, etc. uses TRS-80's; you are a starving computer
  42.     student; etc.; you want something for your kids to play with;
  43.     need a boat anchor; etc.; you can come n' git it, or have it for
  44.     the UPS from Maine. My wife wants it OUT OF OUR GARAGE!
