  13.     In the man for fdformat, it states that "using the raw
  14. device speeds up formatting noticeably". This seems to be in
  15. error. I formatted a 3.5" floppy disk and time reports the 
  16. following:

  29.     Strange; does man mean "decreases system time"? It
  30. certainly does not decrease real time. Also, using the system
  31. for other jobs gives a *very* noticeable delay, on the order of
  32. seconds.

  34.     Can this be linked to the *slow* IDE hard-disk driver
  35. problem? Any comments? Any fixes? Any better HD/FD drivers
  36. out there?
