- I too have an Adaptec 1542B, but I have a CMS Jumbo 250 also. With the
- optional hardware board, I get 100Mb in about 14 minutes. That's
- 1.4Mb/min which seems to beat your SCSI performance. In any case,
- the CMS drives are more popular in general. I would guess that most
- of COH's base are converts from MS-DOS and very few have SCSI
- controllers. Even if they did have them, the added cost of a SCSI tape
- drive will often dictate which tape drive to get. If it was free, I
- would choose a carosel of 5Gb Dat drives (200Gb total), but nothing is
- really free.
