For what it's worth, I paid less than $200 for a Colorado tape drive,
which is significantly less than a SCSI tape drive of similar capacity.
If I had an infinite budget (as some of you seem to profess you do), I
I would have a 486DX/2-66, 2GB SCSI drives, a SCSI streamer, and Interactive
UNIX. But I, like many others, do not have infinite budgets so we buy what
we can afford.

And what difference does it make whether or not the tape is so fast it
smokes on a backup? I perform all of my backups late at night while I'm
sleeping, so I could care less if it takes 10 minutes or 6 hours. Besides,
it does the job very well thank you and I applaud MWC for developing drivers
for the QIC-40 and QIC-80 drives. . . I suspect these are the drives most
folks will use with Coherent because they are priced in a league with
Coherent -- inexpensive.
