- For what it's worth, I paid less than $200 for a Colorado tape drive,
- which is significantly less than a SCSI tape drive of similar capacity.
- If I had an infinite budget (as some of you seem to profess you do), I
- I would have a 486DX/2-66, 2GB SCSI drives, a SCSI streamer, and Interactive
- UNIX. But I, like many others, do not have infinite budgets so we buy what
- we can afford.
-
- And what difference does it make whether or not the tape is so fast it
- smokes on a backup? I perform all of my backups late at night while I'm
- sleeping, so I could care less if it takes 10 minutes or 6 hours. Besides,
- it does the job very well thank you and I applaud MWC for developing drivers
- for the QIC-40 and QIC-80 drives. . . I suspect these are the drives most
- folks will use with Coherent because they are priced in a league with
- Coherent -- inexpensive.
