-
- Subject
-
- This workshop covers aspects of operations and management of
- distributed systems, including new techniques arising from recent
- experiences with management tools and from the integration of
- broadband networks and telecommunications into distributed
- computing environment. Topics of particular interest include but
- are not limited to:
-

- - Acquisition techniques
- - Shared management knowledge techniques and management schema negotiation
-
- Management as a Distributed Processing System
- - Using distributed system techniques for management
- - Integration of operations and management systems
-
- Management of Broadband Networks
- - Integrating broadband networks and multi-media
- services into distributed systems
- - New operations and management techniques for broadband networks
-
- Security Management
- - Management of security mechanisms
- - Security policies
-
- This international workshop follows the highly successful workshops
- on "Distributed Systems: Operations & Management" held in Berlin,
- Santa Barbara and Munich in previous years. As at these workshops,
- the New Jersey workshop is part of a collaborative effort by IFIP
- WG 6.6 and IEEE CNOM fostering cooperation among people actively
- working in this area. To encourage discussion, attendance will be
- limited to about 60 participants. Selection of participants will be
- based, primarily, on submitted and accepted contributions.
- Selections of contributions will be based on reviews of the paper
- summaries submitted.
-
- Venue
-
- The workshop will be held at the Ocean Place Hilton, Long Branch,
- New Jersey, on October 5-6, 1993. On October 7 the Program
- Committee meeting of the IEEE/IFIP 1994 Network Operations and
- Management Symposium, NOMS '94, will be held at the same site.
