- SOME do it now. I speak at DECUS to the exclusion of my sanity. As a
- very frequent speaker, I get lots of these "thanks" letters. For instance,
- Debbie Newkirk (EDUSIG Symposia Rep for the U.S. Chapter) ALWAYS sends a
- personal note on DECUS stationary (even though she knows that I have no
- boss to impress - I'm an independent). This is because Debbie is a
- consumate professional in what she does (I know, since I have worked for
- her in "real life").
-
- On the international front, I even get GREETING CARDS from some Chapters -
- plus, of course - personal notes of thanks from everyone from the Chapter
- administrator on down to the SIG chairs. An amazing difference between
- this and what I experience in the U.S. Chapter of DECUS. Yes, jeeves -
- there are other DECUS chapters besides the U.S. one.
