  16. I posted an article a few days ago requesting information
  17. on OO programming and design training.  The following is
  18. a summary of the responses I have received so far.  I 
  19. want to thank everyone again that sent me information.

  23. I took a semaphore class once. It was a one week c++/OO design course and  it was
  24. quite useful with the one exception I think applies to all "corporate education"
  25. classes I've been to: Many of the people attending had not so much as skimmed
  26. through A good text on the subject and much time was spent on rather basic
  27. questions.

  29. If  you do take one of these courses, (and it IS worth taking some sort of formal
  30. training if it is not too inconvient) be cure to have read through a good book on
  31. the subject (preferably the one that they are using) and talk to some  experienced
  32. co-workers if at all possible..
  33. you'll learn a lot more if you do..

  37. I just got info from GE (1-800-GE-TRAIN).  The course is based on 
  38. their in-house developed OO method (the Rumbaugh, et al book).  Also
  39. they sell software to develop software with this method.  I can't 
  40. recommend or not recommend (haven't taken the course).  But call 
  41. the number and you'll get their info packet.

  45. You need look no further than your own back yard for the best in OO

  59. semaphore has a good reputation as a training company . however, they teach their own  
  60. method and  have their own notation. KSC ( knowledge Systems Corporation in Dallas )  
  61. have very good and expensive small talk training. Check them out.  TI used them and felt  
  62. they did a good job.

  68. You have to ask first what language you what to learn then what OOM
  69. you what to follow!??

  71. usually those company can give training or at least advise you.
