- INTERNATIONAL COMPUTER MUSIC CONFERENCE

- CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

- The 1993 International Computer Music Conference (ICMC 1993),
- sponsored by the International Computer Music Association (ICMA), will
- be held on Sept. 10-15, 1993 at Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan.
- This is the first time the ICMC will be hosted in Asia.

- The conference welcomes all contributions related to computer music
- in the forms of music work, technical papers, demonstrations,
- and studio reports. The DEADLINE for all submissions is JANUARY 30, 1993.

- *** Papers and Demonstrations
-
- The topics of papers and demonstrations include (but are not restricted to):
- * Sound/signal processing, analysis and synthesis
- * Composition and performance
- * Notation systems
- * MIDI and standardization
- * Applications of music theory/analysis
- * Software/hardware systems/tools
- * Perception, cognition and emotive research
- * Physical models
- * Theory and foundations
- * Linkage with other media
- * Studio reports
- An accepted work is entitled to an article in the proceedings, and will be
- presented at the conference in oral sessions or poster/demonstration sessions
- with dedicated time-slots and space.

- Submissions must include three copies of the abstract (500 words or less)
- together with a completed submission form.

- *** Music Works
-
- Computer related music works may fall in (but not restricted to) the
- following categories:
- * Interactive Live Computer Music: Interactive music in various forms
- based on innovative and creative use of computers.
- * Music for Computers: Digitally-produced music assisted by computers.
- Performed in real time or using tapes produced in studios.
- * Algorithmic Compositions: Music composed with the aid of computer
- programs.
- * Music for Instruments and/or Voices and Computers (live or prerecorded).
- * Music for Experimental Instruments and Computers (live or prerecorded).
- * Computer Music with Visual Art.
- An accepted work will be presented in the concert sessions of the conference.

- Submissions must include the work material (tapes, scores, etc.) together
- with a completed submission form.

- The special events that take place during the conference (including special
- talks and panel sessions) will be due announced.

- IMPORTANT DATES
- Jan. 30, 1993: Deadline for all submissions
- Apr. 15, 1993: Notification of acceptance.
- June 15, 1993: Deadline for camera-ready versions and performance
- materials.
