- Due to a problem with directory protection on our system, a few
- entries such as the following were logged in UUCP's LOGFILE:
-
- root uupsi (12/30-9:17-1341) REQUESTED (S D.uupsiBgXM2 D.uupsiSgXM2 daemon)
- daemon uupsi (12/30-9:17-1341) COPY (FAILED)
- daemon uupsi (12/30-9:17-1341) REQUESTED (S D.uupsiXgXM0 X.uupsiAgXM3 daemon)
- daemon uupsi (12/30-9:17-1341) COPY (FAILED)
-
- Being not very experienced with uucp, I don't know if the above means
- that these items were lost, or ended up being retransmitted. Did our
- side acknowledge receipt such that the sender system was satisfied and
- discarded these items, or did our system send a NAK and were these
- items then resent using a different ID? We're running Ultrix 4.2.
-
- Any info would be appreciated. Please reply via email, as our
- newsfeed is a bit shaky at the moment.

- Thanks,
