- Dear netters:
-
- Two questions--related, and (so far as I can tell) not included
- in the comp.mail.misc FAQ--the only FAQ I could find.
-
- First of all, what is NeXTMail? I presume it's reg'lar email with
- sound annotations, correct? If so, do the annotations conform to
- MIME standards, or, more to the point, was the MIME standard
- written to allow for NeXTMail transmission?
-
- Second, does software exist for the Mac to generate and output
- (i.e. record and transmit, and receive and playback--usefully)
- NeXTMail on the Mac? Is such software in the works? Will it
- (I hope) work with Apple's Communication Tool Box (thereby
- allowing its use via serial dialup and terminal emulation,
- not merely via TCP/IP--which I do not have.)
-
- I suggest that responses be posted, as I think this is a
- question of general interest--I've neen netting for several
- years, used a NeXT for a total of about 15 minutes, and this is
- all I know about NeXTMail.
-
- I'll post a similar message on comp.sys.mac.comm, and post
- here if I get anywhere.
-
- Thanks in advance,
- Mitch Silverman,
