  12. Is it possible to make MHN do something intelligent with showing octet
  13. streams that *aren't* "tar" files?  For example, MHN chokes on the first
  14. message Keith Moore sent, because it doesn't know how to display the
  15. octet stream.  (I know how to make it *store* the octet stream; I am
  16. referring only to *showing* the stream.)

  18. As near as I can tell the "tar" and "compress" stuff is hardwired into
  19. MHN and it doesn't pass this info onto any program invoked from a
  20. "mhn-show-application/octet-stream" template.

  22. I suppose one could make a show program that looks for magic numbers,
  23. but this seems sort of kludgy at best.  Is there a better way?
