- Actually, dxmail and xmh have common roots.

-
- This was added as a 'bugfix'. To understand why, kill sendmail on your system.
- Then, send a mail message using xmh. You get no indication of an error,
- but no message gets sent. '-wait' makes mh send wait until it's able to
- connect to sendmail before returning control.
- [Note: I didn't do this work, and may have the details wrong.. but this is
- approximately the instance that the change was intended to fix.]
-
- >2 - How does one get dxmail (in DecWindows MOTIF) to stop using it?
-
- You can't. (short of editing the binary.)
-
- >3 - Does anyone know where DEC documents their 'enhancements' to MH?
-
- For '-mts' and '-note', in the manpages. See below. '-wait' appears to be
- a quick fix for a dxmail-specific bug. Command-line mh users would never need
- this -- since they'll see the eventual error messages.

-
- '-mts' and '-note' are used for DEC's X.400 mail product.
-
- Now, about your *real* problem - I'd suspect it'd be easy to add a dummy
- '-wait' to the MIME-capable version that ignores it.
