- Hi,
-
- I just installed mh6.8, and discovered the MH config I thought to be right
- has a problem. As found in the documentation, MH was built for an environment
- where `hostname` returns the FQDN, and mail is sent to come from a certain
- host inside the domain, i.e.
- domainname = ica.philips.nl
- My workstation = filter
-
- When I send mail, it seems to come from 'geertj@filter', or, after adding
- localdomain in ~mh/lib/mtstailor, from 'geertj@filter.ica.philips.nl'.
- However, I want it to come from 'geertj@ica.philips.nl', i.e. from inside
- the domain, without hostname.
-
- I remember doing some very ugly surgery in mh6.7, and I hope there is a
- cleaner way. I studied the (thousands of) options, but so far have not found
- the right knob to twist. Is there an easy way?

- version: MH 6.8 #3[UCI] (ica06) of Mon Dec 21 02:30:08 MET 1992
- options: [BIND] [BSD42] [DBM] [LOCKF] [MHRC] [MIME]
- [MORE='"/usr/local/bin/less"'] [NTOHLSWAP] [SENDMTS] [SUN40]
- [TYPESEG=void] [TYPESIG=int]
-
- Thanks,
-
