  22.     Mail is a reliable, end-to-end service, and must 
  23.     actively acknowlege both receipt and errors.  An
  24.     exception is made for one case (where an error
  25.     indication would be ambiguous), but in that case
  26.     a duty to reurn a mail message with notice of
  27.     the error is imposed.

  29.     Gateways which do not support the above are possible
  30.     (the PC-critters are good at that), but no-one claims
  31.     they're standard-conforming.
